The horrific fascination
of the universe plays
above my head in a cinema that is
embattled in chaos and design.

God is above me, but who is inside me?
It must be some absurd battle royal
where a benevolent Creator makes hourly war
with phantasms wearing
robes of seductive ornamentation.

Where is the alpha and the omega?
Could it be that the end is not near
but already in the past?
It's waiting for us in the redundant future,
waiting for the movie to end,
waiting for us to come home.
